HiBAR's deodorant is a solid bar sold in a cardboard push-up tube instead of a plastic one. The maker's page lists the formula as aluminum-free and paraben-free and names caprylic/capric triglyceride, arrowroot, sunflower seed wax, coconut oil, shea butter, sodium bicarbonate, magnesium hydroxide and zinc ricinoleate among the ingredients, plus natural fragrance in the scented versions.
The packaging claim comes from the maker: the tube is recyclable cardboard, and its FAQ says it is curbside compostable and can be composted at home, with a caution about using compost on food crops. Shipping materials are described as compostable, recyclable or biodegradable. The formula contains baking soda, which irritates some people.
